We’re Changing the Way the World Thinks About Spectroscopy

The Dongmao Zhang Lab at Mississippi State University is an analytical chemistry research lab focusing on the improvement and development of innovative optical spectroscopic techniques for improved material characterization. Our lab studies light-matter interactions of materials using UV-vis spectrophotometry, fluorescence spectrometry, linearly polarized spectrometry, chiroptical spectroscopy, and specially designed optical instrumentation developed by the group.

National Science Foundation Innovation-Corp Funding!

Excited to announce that we have officially been accepted to take part in the National Science Foundation I-Corp program based on our new rapid chemical and biological testing methodology! Graduate student Max Wamsley awarded prestigious DoD SMART Scholarship award

Mississippi State University official article link We are excited to announce that Max Wamsley, a graduate student in our lab, was recently awarded the prestigious Department of Defense (DoD) Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) scholarship award!
